The old village centre has evolved into an authentic, picturesque tourist gem of Gorenjska. The white fairytale of the Zgornjesavska valley offers the possibility of countless adventures. Skiers and snowboarders will find their challenge on the snow-covered slopes, while others can find their recreation on the well-kept cross-country tracks or by sledding on toboggan runs. Climbing a frozen waterfall, day and night snowshoeing, hikes with torches are an unforgettable experience.
Alpine skiing is and will be the white soul of Kranjska Gora. The special feature of Kranjska Gora’s ski offer is the variety of terrain, which offers quality skiing for beginners as well as for top skiers. Snowboarders will also find their place on the slopes. In addition to the sledging hill, the Kranjska Gora ski resort organises night sledding on groomed and floodlit sledging hills. Cross-country and downhill skiing will surely make you even more addicted to the sight of snow-covered winter walls and peaks. Lucifer is the famous icefall in Gozd Martuljek and is one of the most popular destinations for ice climbers. You can try the ice waterfalls below Prisank and in Tamar or the artificial ice wall in the Mlačca Gorge in Mojstrana, where you will be enchanted by the ice sculptures in the Ice Kingdom at Christmas time.
But that’s not the end of the winter delights of our destination: you can also choose from day and night snowshoeing, torchlight hikes, snow biking, ice skating on the icy lakes and ice rinks, swimming in the indoor pools, enjoying the antics of the Kranjska Gora Snow Park or visiting the Alpine Village in the centre of Kranjska Gora. In winter, Kranjska Gora is the place to be to witness the richly decorated streets and squares and enjoy the countless delicacies offered by the Christmas market stalls.
