A key event for the tourism industry in Slovakia
Slovakian tourism was the central topic at the thirtieth edition of the international tourism trade fair ITF SLOVAKIATOUR, celebrated at Incheba EXPO Bratislava between 30 January and 1 February 2025. As one of the key economic sectors in Slovakia, tourism significantly contributes to the creation of jobs and the support of regional development.
The SLOVAKIATOUR trade show was a showcase of experiences and economic growth, but also a bridge to international cooperation and cultural exchange. The diverse accompanying program of the fair presented Slovakia in all its colours and flavours to the trade show visitors.
Supported by Slovakia’s recently created Ministry of Tourism and Sport and SLOVAKIA TRAVEL, the trade fair showed how the country’s tourism organisations help develop sustainable forms of tourism that combine environment preservation with the development of local communities.
The conference served as a platform where the Ministry, together with the professional public, professional associations and associations, and regional organisations active in the field of tourism, discussed long-term intentions in the tourism sector.
From active relaxation in the mountains to epicurean delights
Visitors could learn all about Slovakia’s hidden gems, from the best places to relax in a spa or the mountains to incredible restaurants revolutionising Slovakian cuisine. The ITF SLOVAKIATOUR took place concurrently with the DANUBIUS GASTRO fair.
This year’s novelty of the fair is the dominant position of Slovak tourism. It is attended by all regional tourism organizations. “We are presenting the whole of Slovakia in one place, it is a truly unique concept,” commented Minister Dušan Keketi.
Distinguished guests and tourism experts also gathered at a gala reception where awards for extraordinary achievements were handed out. In addition, a special roundtable conference delved into the topic of “Transformation of Tourism in Slovakia”.
The prestigious tourism and gastronomy fairs ITF Slovakiatour and Danubius Gastro are among the most important events of their kind not only in Slovakia but also in Central Europe.
