The impacts of the pandemic on Convention Bureaus in Europe

This presentation will discuss the results of a major survey of European convention bureaus, showing how they have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 and 2021. 134 convention bureaus representing countries, cities and towns all over Europe participated in the MICE Knowledge survey, describing how they have adapted to the global health crisis as well as the pandemic’s impacts on their destination marketing activities. The fourth Conventa Academy event of 2021 will be led by Dr Rob Davidson is the Managing Director of MICE Knowledge, a London-based consultancy specialising in research, education and training services for the meetings and events industry. His main area of expertise is the conference industry, and he has written seven books on that theme, including his latest publication, Business Events. He has carried out research projects for a number of major organisations, and his most recent research publication is a report on ‘The Impacts of the Pandemic on Convention Bureaus in Europe’. He is regularly invited to speak at international conferences on themes linked to business events, and he also teaches in three European universities, where he educates students in Events Management and Tourism Management.
