Hotel Bohinj: conquering Mount Everest in slippers

Sustainability is at the heart of Hotel Bohinj’s mission. One of their ingenious sustainable measures includes branded slippers that await every guest. Made from recycled bottles by the Kaaita company, every guest can take a pair home. Each pair of slippers is made from six recycled bottles.

EQUALLING THE HEIGHT OF ONE AND A HALF MOUNT EVEREST

Based on last year’s numbers, the hotel recycled as many as 41,700 bottles to make the slippers. If you put one on top of the other, it would add up to a kilometre and a half above the height of Mount Everest.

Hotel Bohinj built its story on clear foundations and with clearly defined goals. The pursuit of sustainable principles is a large part of the mission, which is why they obtained the Ecolabel. The EU introduced it in 1992, and since then it has enjoyed high recognition worldwide.

EVERY INFORMED GUEST HELPS SPREAD THE WORD

Every detail is important for sustainable operation, no matter how unremarkable it looks at first, just like the slippers. Every eco-conscious guest can help spread the word. The slippers are a symbol of sustainable thinking.
