“I Feel Slovenia Night of the Dragon” Makes Global Impact with Star-Studded Farewell

The spectacular “I Feel Slovenia Night of the Dragon”, where legendary Slovenian basketball player Goran Dragić bid a grand farewell to the basketball court last weekend, exceeded all expectations and captivated basketball enthusiasts globally with its extraordinary star-studded lineup. The occasion drew significant attention to Slovenia, spotlighting it as a top sports and tourist destination. Read on to discover how this event resonated across social networks and global media.


As a national partner, the Slovenian Tourist Board (STB) spotlighted the “I Feel Slovenia” brand during the two-day event, promoting Slovenia as a boutique tourist and sports destination. The lineup featured basketball legends such as Luka Dončić, Nikola Jokić, Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki, mesmerizing fans both in Ljubljana and around the world. The event boasted more than 500 performers, 53 players and coaches and nearly 200 other distinguished guests.

The game was streamed live by the NBA League via its app, with TV broadcasts reaching 10 countries, including the USA, Turkey, Israel, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia. In Slovenia, RTV Slovenia aired the event, attracting nearly 800,000 viewers through television and the RTV multimedia centre.

From August 21 to 26, the event attracted significant media attention, with 557 articles in international media, estimated to be worth almost half a million euros. On social networks, the event reached 28 million people, with over 3,200 mentions and more than 1.1 million reactions. Videos related to the event achieved over 30 million views.

Over 60 posts on STB’s channels generated more than 120,000 interactions, with the most successful Facebook post receiving over 6,400 likes. On slovenia.info, event-related pages attracted over 6,200 visitors, resulting in more than 10,800 views. Adding a charitable dimension, the event raised approximately 700,000 euros.
