In the year 2021 the Grand Hotel Union, the Secession gem of Ljubljana, has reopened its renovated first floor to the guests. The venue namely was undergoing a major renovation and refurbishment which is setting the future design and style of its interior. With a dash of freshness and modernity to the hotel’s original design we want to provide an even more enjoyable experience, with many other small details that bring joy to our guests while they are far away from home. offered in a comfortable and pleasant, yet slightly different ambience, which exceeds the expectations of even the most demanding guests.
Grand Hotel Union is located on Miklošičeva ulica 1, in the heart of old Ljubljana’s picturesque pedestrian zone. The hotel was designed by renowned architect Josip Vancaš and has opened its doors in 1905. It was the first modern hotel in Ljubljana at the time, as well as the biggest building in the city. In over a century, the “grand dame” of the city hosted many personalities, including H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, Bill and Hilary Clinton, Dalai Lama, Orson Welles and many others.
The hotel offers 25 completely renovated hotel rooms on its first floor, namely nine Superior Comfort Double rooms, ten Grand Deluxe Double rooms, three Junior Suites, one Residence Two Bedroom Suite, one Grand Corner Suite and what is destined to be the most important suite in Ljubljana … the Grand Union Suite.
