Conventa is a PEOPLE2PEOPLE event at its core
The regional industry has not witnessed live events for more than 400 days. Following dark months, the first signs of spring optimism are starting to appear. The days are getting longer, and the weather is sunny and pleasantly warm. Moreover, spring is bringing about a higher percentage of vaccinated individuals, which is a prerequisite for restarting events. The next wave of the pandemic thus seems more manageable.
The third wave of the pandemic has further consolidated our team’s belief that live contact is priceless. We are all well aware of the phenomenon, dubbed as Zoom fatigue in the past year. The occurrence is related to communication via videoconferencing tools, which puts significantly more strain on us than live communication. Of course, this only applies to situations in which we actually wish to follow the content of the communication. According to the opinion of our long-year partners, the quality of online contacts and communication is also questionable.
That is the main reason why the organisers of Conventa have decided to stick with executing the hybrid version of Conventa. We will stay true to our promise to execute the event regardless of the situation from the 25th to the 26th of August 2021. The event will not be further postponed and will either take place as a: LIVE CONVENTA or a HYBRID CONVENTA. In the worst scenario (see the “traffic light” below), it will be DIGITAL.
The final decision regarding Conventa’s format will be accepted before the event and will be announced by 10 July 2021.
It is clear that during these times we are completely dependent on the regional market. It will likely stay that way for some time. Conventa has remained loyal to the region of New Europe even during its greatest expansion. Consequently, we are one of the handfuls of events that have built a quality database of regional event organisers. The entire region has in recent years established itself as the “European California of the meetings industry”. All regional stakeholders wish to restart events as soon as possible.
Nevertheless, caution and responsibility from all of us, who organise events is the current priority. Hence, the “Safe and healthy meetings and events” certificate is of particular importance. Everyone, who will wish to attend the event in person, will have to meet the following requirements:
- Vaccination confirmation or confirmation about having had Covid-19, which will be proved by your European vaccination passport.
- Alternatively, quick antigen test will be made upon arrival
- Quarantine in the event of a positive test at the event
- Strict abiding the rules of “Safe and healthy meetings and events” certificate, issued by the Slovenian Convention Bureau
We have specifically created the “traffic light” system for executing Conventa. The principle is based on the Slovenian Government’s systematic way of easing restrictions. The system will be used in case the situation gets worse and is presented in detail below:
CONVENTA GREEN LIGHT

STATUS: No restrictions regarding business events
CONVENTA RESTRICTIONS:

- No catering restrictions

→ Conventa will be executed in LIVE format (in-person)
CONVENTA YELLOW LIGHT
Number of confirmed positive tests: <600
Number of hospitalised patients: <500
STATUS: Business events for up to 500 people (open group)
RESTRICTIONS:
- 1,5 m distance between chairs
- Contactless catering
- “Safe and healthy meetings and events” standard
→ Conventa will be executed in a HYBRID format (in-person)
CONVENTA ORANGE LIGHT

STATUS: Business events for up to 10 people (closed group)

The trend in our region is consistently leading us to the yellow phase. Thus, with relative certainty, we can announce that this year’s Conventa will be HYBRID. In light of Europe’s vaccination, it might even be completely LIVE.
In the past thirteen years, Conventa has been one of the first events on the congress calendar. This year we aspire to retain that position and become the first larger B2B hybrid or live event. We promise that we will give it our best when it comes to the safe execution of the event. In a special article, we will present all the measures we plan to take to make #SAFECONVENTA.
Conventa is actively responding to the paradigm “Think globally, act locally”. With innovative tools, we are building a database of regional buyers that you will meet at the event. We meet with them at online events such as Conventa Trend Bar and Conventa Academy. The interest for the event in August is incredible, and we will do everything in our power to make sure Conventa fulfils the promise embedded in its DNA: Explore – Meet – Create.
